Who we are

ETCH Labs Limited is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. We are a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17175838), with a registered office at 16 Gateland Drive, Leeds, LS17 8HU. You can reach us at hello@etch-labs.com.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. ICO registration number: pending.

What we collect

We collect only what is necessary for the purpose described below. Specifically:

• Contact form fields: your name, email address, and message body. Company name, preferred timeline, and project type are optional.
• A Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot token, generated and processed by Cloudflare on our behalf to protect the contact form from automated submissions.
• Google Analytics data, including pages visited and approximate location, but only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. No analytics data is collected before you give consent.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics: aggregate page-view and referrer data for all visitors. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not identify you or track you across sites.

Why we collect it

We collect contact form data to respond to your enquiry. We collect analytics data, with your consent, to understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve them.

Lawful basis

For contact form data: Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR, processing necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract. For Google Analytics cookies: Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR, your explicit consent via the cookie banner. For Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and stores no personal data: Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site traffic.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries are retained for 24 months unless they convert to a consultancy engagement, in which case retention follows the terms of that engagement. Analytics data retention follows Google's configuration; the default for this site is 14 months.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the third parties needed to operate the site: Cloudflare (Turnstile anti-bot verification, Web Analytics, and email routing), Google (Analytics, only if you consent), and the SMTP provider used to deliver our reply emails. We do not sell data. We do not share data with anyone else.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. You also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to receive data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Cookies

We use two types of cookie:

• consent (first-party): remembers your cookie banner choice. Retained for 12 months. Set regardless of your decision so the banner does not reappear on every page.
• _ga, _ga_* (first-party, Google Analytics): used to distinguish visitors and sessions. Set only after you click Accept. Retention follows Google's defaults (up to 14 months for this site).

Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, so it is not listed above and is not affected by your cookie choice. You can change your cookie preference at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
